The first day of the biggest online exhibition for the food industry is behind us!!

The first day of the WorldFood Poland is behind us. The online event turned out to be a real hit. Already in the morning, almost 2,000 users were logged in to the platform!

Online exhibition – an alternative that the industry has been waiting for

Although the global pandemic has disrupted the current order in many areas of our functioning, fortunately it did not freeze one thing: human ingenuity and innovation. Thanks to initiatives such as trade fairs organized in virtual space, the food industry can continue to function harmoniously. Entrepreneurs can not only make new contacts, but also exchange experiences and point of views on the industry issues they live by on a daily basis.

Opening Debate

Exhibition has been open by the Opening Debate of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, who granted the honorary patronage over the event.

The topic of the debate was: Impact of the COVID-19 on the shape of international trade in the agrifood sector.  During the debate, the invited guests have tried to identify opportunities for Polish food exporters. They discussed the current consumer and sales trends and the prospects they bring for Polish entrepreneurs.

The situation in the industry – from the minister’s point of view

Minister Grzegorz Puda stated that despite the global crisis caused by the pandemic, foreign trade in agri-food products has not collapsed. Last year, 7% increase in the value of exports was recorded compared to 2019. In 2020 Polish exports of agri-food products reached the record level of EUR 34 billion, which was EUR 2.2 billion higher than in the previous year.

The minister also pointed a factor that may cause optimism for the entire industry: the balance in the turnover of agri-food products was positive and in 2020 reached the level of EUR 11.7 billion. This meant an increase by over 11% compared to the previous year.

Trends shaping the future of the food industry

At the second part of the day we discussed mainly trends in the global food and drink market in 2021 from different perspectives. The presentation of Ms Honorata Jarocka from Mintel attracted many entrepreneurs looking for inspiration to develop the company and introduce new products to the market in accordance with current trends. The first-day conferences ended with the presentation of Polish Vodka as an element of the heritage and tradition of Polish culture.

EXPO Zone – a virtual window to the world for the food industry

The currently held exhibition is not only experts’ presentations, but above all, the exchange of information and contacts.

The organizers prepared the EXPO zone, in which they placed virtual stands and profiles of 160 exhibitors from 18 countries. This zone, in addition to the company and product presentation function, also provides the possibility of networking.

We invite you in front of the screens of computers, laptops and smartphones!

The exhibition will last until April 22. There will be no better opportunity to establish business contacts in the food industry this year so join us!
